Artonov
Editorial - 11th edition
‘The past is not what precedes the present, but what becomes significant in the present’.
These words, inspired by Luciano Berio, aptly express what drives the 11th edition of the ARTONOV Festival. Berio, a visionary composer, saw memory not as something to be preserved, but as a force to be transformed, to be made to vibrate in the present, to better map out the future.
'The Future of the Past' is an invitation to ‘cross over’: a dialogue between eras, forms and artistic disciplines, where legacies are reinvented in new ways. This edition welcomes a new generation of artists - curious, audacious, hybrid - who refuse existing categories, who strive to find new ways of expression.
